Geriatric Care Management 2

A geriatric care manager (GCM) is a professional who specializes in assisting older adults, disabled individuals, and their families with short–term and long-term care arrangements.  GCMs have training in gerontology, social work, nursing or a related human service field.  A care manager is a resource expert with in-depth knowledge of all the services, benefits, programs, and facilities in the community that serve older adults.  By hiring a care manager, individuals and families benefit from having a coordinated plan, avoiding costly mistakes, and having a trusted professional for advice and monitoring.  A care manager is also available to you for emergencies and acts as a liaison between client, family and professionals.

Jewish Family Services (JFS) offers private individual, child, adolescent, family and marriage counseling services provided by caring and devoted licensed psychotherapists to the entire community. Therapists address life challenges by assisting clients of all ages in understanding problems and developing strategies to mange life stressors in a constructive and positive manner. Medicare, Medicaid, most private insurances, credit cards are accepted and a sliding fee scale based on income is available.

Counseling services take place at 14041 Icot Blvd. in Clearwater. Counseling locations are also available in North Pinellas County (Palm Harbor) and South Pinellas County (St Petersburg) depending on availability. Please call for available times.

Caring Companions

JFS caring companions are kindhearted individuals that provide transportation, household chores, errands, meal planning and preparation, medication reminders, companionship and much more. Companions are screened mature individuals that provide companionship to aging and frail individuals and the disabled. This fee-for-service program offers regular contact with family members and allows aging loved ones to remain in their home. Simply call for an in-home assessment.

Holocaust Survivor Services

JFS provides case management services, support groups, restitution information and assistance, housekeeping services, and socialization events to survivors of the Holocaust. All services are arranged to assist survivors to continue living safely and independently in their home with dignity and respect.


Yad B’Yad Adult Mentoring Program 3

Yad B’Yad (Hand in Hand) is a program where Jewish adult volunteers act as mentors, companions, and role models to a Jewish child from a single parent home. The relationship strengthens the single parent family by enriching their lives with an additional adult influence. There is extensive recruiting, support, matching, and monitoring of the relationship between the adult and child.





Jewish Family Life Education JFS offers support groups for children, adults, and families who are experiencing common problems and challenges. Through supportive and sensitive discussions, group members gain a deeper understanding of personal and family issues and how they can successfully address their issues. JFS workshops educate children, families, and older adults on a variety of relevant topics. Call to receive a schedule of current support groups and upcoming workshops.

JFS staff will connect people with community-based resources to assist them with issues pertaining to finances, transportation, alternative housing, legal concerns, and Jewish community organizations.

JFS offers assistance to individuals and families in crisis with the goal of strengthening the security and stability of the individual and family. The agency food pantry provides kosher and non kosher non perishable items as well as personal care and clothing items to those in need during difficult times.





Jewish College Interest-Free Loan 4

JFS arranges college or trade school interest-free loans to assist Jewish individuals reach higher educational goals and expand career opportunities.
